As i promised earlier,it's time for another great bodybuilder,to get his place in my "bodybuilders" category of articles.
Dorian definitely deserved his almost legendary status.I believe that if you would ask anyone interested in this sport,to name few icons,he would say Coleman,Schwarzenegger,and most probably Yates.Schwarzenegger-because actually from him bodybuilding madness spreaded all over the world,Coleman -because he won Mr Olimpia 8 times,and Yates,because he created a physique that determined this sport for next years,and it lasts even now.
Yates revolutionized training in this sport.Before him most popular was "arnold style "training with almost whole days spent on gym on various training plans.Dorian's plan was named 'blood and guts' ,simillar as his movie released later with this training.His style of training advocates several different exercises and few sets for a bodypart allowing it to be hit from all angles for optimum development. He believed that muscle damage could be caused in a shorter period of time with the proper intensity rather than working out for extended periods of time.
Also this "macabrical" blood and guts term is perfect for it,because Dorian believes (same as me) that workingout in hardcore oldschool gym with "basement" climate gives you the mental edge to overcome pain and "kick it" harder,to become larger and better.
Dorian won mr Olympia 6 times,and his backs even today seems to be enormously developed.
Yates road to fame and glory might be a great scenario for a movie.
From a bully who had problems with law,thanks to bodybuilding he became world class champion.Nowadays Dorian still keeps good shape,he takes part in plenty of seminaries,he created his dietary supplements brand .
